The Chapel

Hanna and Eva are English teachers at Islamic Junior High School. They analyse a novel written by Josef Essberger entitled "The Chapel". They argue that this story is compatible for secondary students in the term of conveying a moral value. Furthermore, they state that teenagers should be aware of someone else surrounding them even someone who seems to be very close to them.

THE CHAPEL
By Josef Essberger

One day, at noon in the drought of April, Ginnie Narine walked alone to the Chapel. Suddenly, a Mercedes stopped and the driver, Ravi Kirjani offered her a lift. He was a  man of honor in Rio Cristalino. Ginnie allowed him to go with. He drove his car to the silent Sugar Cane, not to the Chapel. Next he raped her and left her. Ginnie never tell it to everybody.
Next two week , Ravi had been promised the hand of Sunita Moorpalani. Her family was a rich as Kirjani’s. On October, Mrs Narine, Ginnie’s mother recognized that her daughter was pregnant. She took her to Dr.Khan. Ginnie wanted her baby born, but her mother didin’t. Then Ginnie asked Ravi to be married. They were married.
Someday , Sunita’s five brother asked Ravi to spend a day of weekend with them at their villa on an uphill in Mayaro. The morning was thrilling. The rear door of the Land Rover swung open and Ravi tumbled out, falling helplessly beneath the wheels of a heavy loaded truck. He was dead. That truck was Moorpalani’s. Not too long, Ginnie’s baby was born.
